I listened to a podcast last year at a stage. Podcasts are something I enjoy. The host said ‘after the whole COVID-19 pandemic what will we do when the plane lands?’
Now for the life of me I can’t recall which podcast it was or who the host was (yes I should have made a note). But that phrase and question has stuck with me.
What will we do when that plane lands?
When this whole pandemic is over and things are back to some or other normality? The HOW questions come to mind.

How will we be approaching things going forward?
How will we have learnt from the experience and realities of the last two years?
How will we take solutions used during this time and make them usable into the future?
How could we potentially capitalise on new technologies or things we missed out on, to make experiences in the future more efficient and impactful?
How can we understand behaviour shown over the period, as well as when things started ‘opening up’ and what does it mean for engagements in the future?
These are just some of the considerations. Broader than that though is how do we pivot, grow and reshape ourselves, our business, our relationships into the future. What thought processes would we have and will adopt in our thinking and coping mechanisms, that puts us in good stead for future challenges.
Challenges will be there in future. That’s a given. How we will adapt, mould and grow, that is the crucial point. Especially when we wonder what the “next COVID” will be? The thing that could rock and challenge us individually and or collectively to our core!
Hopefully the flight on COVID-Air’22 as it lands and parks in front of the global terminal, will provide us perfect 20-20 vision and perspective into the future.
All the best, Steven
