Each one of us have a story to tell. In some instances it’s seen as a typically smooth sailing one, in others it’s an up and down roller caster.
In the case of 2000 Sydney Olympics Gold medalist, Anthony Ervin, the charismatic American Swimmer, his story has been a one of major highs and lows.
A talented athlete, claimed Olympic Glory, went off the rails, was ‘rehabilitated’ through swimming, return to the London games at age 31 to finish 5, and finally to push through and make the US team for Rio at age 35. The story does not end there, but with a Gold medal in the 4×100 free relay on day 1, to making the 50m free final, his signature event, and racing his way to Olympic Glory.
16 years after winning Gold in this event, aged 19, he goes on to prove himself again!
