Ladysmith grown Brad Tandy, has swum his way into the Olympic final of the 50m freestyle event at the Rio Olympic Games. With this he continues the rich history of SA swimmers making the men’s sprint final since SA’s return from isolation. This includes the likes of Roland Swimmer (Athens 2004 triple medalist) and Peter Williams (Barcelona 92 4th position). 

Brad having grown up in Ladysmith, attending my alma Mata, Ladysmith High School (where he was Head Boy) and having been coaches in Junior and High School by my Dad, Ivan Ball, has achieved much success especially when he joined the US College system and Arizona University.
